John R. Stooksberry is an active civil trial attorney and mediator with over 25 years of experience in handling state and federal civil litigation and appellate matters. Born in Dallas, Texas, John was raised and attended his preliminary education in Farmersville, Texas. John received his B.B.A. from East Texas State University in 1965 and received his law degree from South Texas College of Law in 1971. In that same year he was admitted to practice in the State Bar of Texas. John served as Municipal Judge for the City of Renner, Texas from 1974 1975. In 1981 John was Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has continuously held his certification to the present date. In 1990 John became a Certified Mediator and has continuously held his certification to the present date. John has served two terms on the State Bar of Texas District 1 A Grievance Committee. John is admitted to practice before the Texas Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. John maintains his practice in McKinney, Collin County, Texas, and actively involves himself in actions filed in many other counties in Texas. John has been with the firm since 1976 and currently serves as President of the firm. He is also a member of the firm's Board of Directors.
